Is to provide and enhance opportunities for individuals with any disability to lead the fullest and most independent lives possible. We are inspired to make a better, happier place for individuals with disabilities in the ten county area we serve in Southeast Tennessee.
Any individual has the right and opportunity to follow a course decided by one's self and to succeed or fail in pursuit of one's goals and dreams. The IL philosophy promotes self-determination, equal opportunities, systems of individual advocacy, peer support, and self-help, along with self-respect.
Right now, we are in need of ramp-building volunteers. Groups and individuals over the age of 12 (with an adult present for minors) contact us if you are interested in volunteering in this way! You can forever change a life and feel good about doing so.
In recognition now is a great time for people with disabilities to get informed on preparedness, make a personal preparedness plan, build an emergency kit, and get involved in community preparedness. We will show you step by step how to build an emergency kit and be connected with your community. Here in our area we have experienced devastating tornados and flooding in the last 18 months. Anyone can unexpectedly find themselves at ground zero. Know what to do and how to respond. We will also show you how to have a preparedness plan to protect your family. Find pictures below depicting tornado damage right here in our service area.
Are you an individual with a disability that was financially impacted by COVID-19? Behind on rent or mortgage? A landlord that experienced a loss in revenue? We have access to programs that can help. Contact us and let us find what relief you may qualify for. You are not alone.
Your support and contributions will enable this nonprofit to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your donation is tax - deductible due to the fact we are a 501c3 organization. Because our services are provided at no cost, we do rely heavily on donations. Your generous donation will fund our vast array of services, potentially changing someone's life.
